I am in the floor covering industry and I highly recommend All About Hardwood. Jose Luis was excellent to work with from scheduling to the installation and everything in between. I provided the product and he did the installation. People don’t realize it, but 80% of customer satisfaction of any flooring job comes down to the installation.
We installed the floors in a condo in Santa Monica. I have an idea what prices are, and they had very fair pricing. Their estimates were clear, they were punctual and left the jobsite clean. They got the job done on time. The guys are some of the best in the area! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I own older apartment buildings with real old oak floors, and I use All About Wood Floors for repair and refinishing. They would either replace or reinstall stained or water damaged portions of the floors before refinishing them, or even install new wood floor to areas that didn’t have one, and match the existing perfectly. For example, we removed old-fashioned space heaters, which left holes in the floors. Jose Luis and his team came in and filled the spaces, adding subfloor and new wood flooring. When they refinished the entire floor it looked like new. Fixing old hardwood floors is difficult because it is hard to match the wood, but somehow he is able to do it right every time.
As a professional engineer I am naturally a good bit OCD about things. Jose Luis’ work results look excellent.
They take care of business and I don’t have to be there to supervise. We just give them the key and they call us when they are done.
Jose Luis is very dependable, too. If I call and leave a message, he gets back to me within a couple of hours.
I highly recommend this outfit.

Jose is one of the most experienced flooring people I know. He is a great guy, very professional, honest and his estimates are very reasonable. He knows his stuff and says right from the get-go how it will need to be done. He answers his phone and shows up on time. His workmanship is excellent. He listens and is happy to answer any questions and will come back if there are any concerns. He goes beyond to make sure that everyone is happy. I first hired All About Hardwood in 2013. I had bought a 4000 square foot house in Tarzana, ripped it apart and started over. Jose Luis came to me as a referral from someone who had used him for his floors in Santa Monica. He told me Jose Luis was great and liked him a lot. He was spot on!
Jose Luis’ craftmanship and oversight were great. He handled everything from beginning to end unbelievably well. He designed the floors in every room so that they are framed like artwork. Very cool, but simple design. Getting it to look right takes a lot of planning and work.
I had Jose Luis come back recently to install hardwood in two rooms we had initially carpeted. We also asked him to look at the flooring he had installed 11 years ago. Some areas showed more wear, like in kitchen. He said he could make it look brand new again. He redid a sample in the kitchen at no charge and it looked unbelievable. He came out four times with wood samples to make sure it was exactly right. When I saw his showroom I understood how he was able to come in with so many samples.
His guys are clean and they wear booties when they come in house. They are pros, truly artisans at flooring! They know exactly what they’re doing.
Their pricing is not the cheapest, but it is very competitive. It’s not a Home Depot job, so it’s not Home Depot prices. You get what you pay for.
Jose Luis saved me so much time and frustration. When he says he’ll be there at eight, he is. When he says the job will take three days, he’s done in two-and-a-half days. He knows his craft.

Jose Luis did the hardwood floors in our house on two occasions. He first did the living room and this year we had him come back and do all the bedrooms. His work is both consistent and durable. We are thrilled with his service.
We initially visited first his showroom and he came out to give us a quote. His price was competitive. Our floor was slanted and it had to be leveled which added some costs. Jose Luis gave us options of materials and ways to do the job to bring down the cost. At every turn he was transparent about pricing, so there were no surprises. He was very helpful and honest.
The floors look great! He made the new floors match the older floors perfectly. In fact our old flooring was discontinued and he initially thought it wouldn’t be available, but he searched around and found someone who had bought the last of the flooring in bulk! That is how committed he was to matching the floors.
Jose Luis’ team is also great! We had to pause at one point for a few days. He was very flexible with us and brought in new people when we restarted, but they were equally as good. Very professional and communicative.
I will use him again if we ever need his services.

Their prices were far lower than everyone else. They beat out two other bids. I was nervous because their prices were so good… but they showed up on time, were respectful, cleaned up every day and did immaculate work! They lined up every grain to match.
