Mold and Asbestos Testing You Can Trust

To start, they meet the client, learn the history and begin the inspection. They use state-of-the-art equipment, including air-sampling gear, moisture-testing tools, infrared cameras and XRF guns for lead detection. They collect surface and air samples, send their findings to the lab and analyze the results with a quick turnaround. They follow up with an in-depth report, including advice regarding remediation.
Since he only does testing, Frank has no motivation to recommend unnecessary remediation. “If you show us some black spots on the wall,” Frank explains, “more than likely it’s going to come back as some type of mold, but we’ll determine what kind and figure out what really needs to be done.”
“We’re not alarmist,” he adds. “Some inspectors scare people with the possibility of mold. We give our customers the data and our opinion about how to proceed. We stay solutions-oriented.”

I bought a house from a couple that had three cats that never used the litter box. They peed throughout the house into the concrete. If the cats actually used it, they would cheer. So when I bought the house, there was a distinct cat urine smell throughout the house, so bad that my friends joked that it's like when you go to Benihana you wear your outfit that already smells like it. I literally had crime scene guys come out because I was at such a loss of how to clean out the odor. Then Frank came along, and he walked the property and took a lot of time to think about which approach to take. His solution was to spray the concrete with enzymes, and draw them out for that. He was the only person who could figure it out, and I can't thank him enough. He's great at finding the cause of an environmental intrusion and then understanding how to best address it in a pragmatic way. He's not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but I found him to be very capable. He typically hits his bids. I refer him frequently. I've worked with him on a number of projects. As a realtor, normally if I have a complicated mold issue he's my first call. He shows up every day ready to go to battle. He is meticulous and thoughtful. His crew is incredibly conscientious and respectful and protective of the home. They understand that they're there to solve the problem. He does his work within the timeline he says.

I'm president of our HOA, and we hired Hidatsa to test for mold in several units of our complex because of water intrusion from a leak. Frank was very responsive to meeting our needs including arranging his schedule around each homeowner’s availability. Testing and reports were completed within one week. The reports are really extensive—up to 55 pages with pictures. Frank Colbert, Hidatsa owner, spent as much time as needed to explain everything and answer all my questions. After remediation, he came back to test again. One unit needed more remediation. Even though Frank had to come back a third time to test that unit again, he didn’t charge us for it. He offers a very honorable service and is committed to the health and safety of his clients. I’m usually a pretty critical person, but I can’t think of any criticism for Hidatsa Testing. The whole process flowed very easily. Frank has a very professional with soothing manner that would make any person feel at ease.
