Gracious Designer Brings Custom, Classic Design to San Gabriel Valley
“ATTENTION TO DETAIL is critical in design,” says Erin King, who is just as comfortable designing a unique table as she is building a house from the ground up. Erin’s technical background in architecture and decades of experience during which she honed her clean aesthetic make her an outstanding choice for high-end residential projects.
Erin starts by performing a comprehensive site visit and extensive research. She oversees all aspects of design and construction, and keeps her clients apprised of the project’s progress. “Honest communication and collaboration are at the heart of these relationships,” she told us.
Erin’s love of history and rich textures guides her preference for antique and custom furnishings. “Furniture making is a joy of mine. And it makes sense since we have shorter and taller clients and the furniture fits their bodies.” Erin has longtime relationships with talented carpenters, metal workers and upholsterers who fabricate her designs. “We are cautious with environmental concerns and that’s part of our push to hire local artisans and make pieces that will last."

Erin King Interiors pretty much redesigned and updated our entire home. We used their full design services for the interior as well as exterior. Everything from new paint to refinishing floors, to the pool and the whole backyard. They coordinated all their design work with the contractors.
The quality of their work is really, really strong. The combination of keeping us informed with what was happening, to learning our taste as well as giving us great recommendations helped a lot.
On the collaboration front, we have particular tastes and they helped us articulate that aesthetic. They gave us different options to help us figure out what we wanted and often the first recommendation they gave we really liked. It was very efficient.
Their customer service is high touch. You ask a question and within that day whether text or email, they get back to you. They handled everything, even fixing little things for example where something came in the mail for a project and it was damaged.
Their communication was consistent from beginning to end. I still have detailed emails from them about what to expect throughout the project, who was coming to our house and what deliveries were coming in that day—very detailed.
We will use them when we’re ready for our next house. I have already recommended them!

Manhattan Beach - November 16, 2022
Erin worked for us on three very different projects: a beach home, a formal home and an old house in Switzerland from the turn of the century. In each instance she understood the nature of the project, learned quickly, and integrated the context of the different countries and communities she was working in.
We tore down an old house in Manhattan Beach and rebuilt it from the ground up. Erin was there every step of the way to help us create the design that suited our personality. She worked side-by-side with the architect from the very beginning and she worked with the builder to coordinate the construction of the home. We wanted a home that we could relax in and that’s exactly what she provided us. We ended up with beautiful spaces that reflect the beach community and reflected our relaxed way of living there.
For our home in Switzerland, Erin helped us with the interior renovation. She worked closely with the architect on the finishes and the interior design. She created a very livable home and it reflects the part of Switzerland that we live in.
Our home in London is much more formal and she redid the entire interior decoration to evoke that feel.
Erin has created for us three spaces that were very reflective of where and how we live. The quality of her work is always the best. Sometimes she actually has to push us a little bit because she takes us in new directions. Everything she does from the materials, to the surfaces, to the fabrics and furnishings are always of the highest quality. That doesn’t always mean it’s the most expensive. Sometimes a room is more important so you spend more money on it while other rooms are secondary. She sources materials that are suited to each of these types of space with creativity and she’s very sensitive to how each space is used.

Erin and her team helped us design and remodel our kitchen from scratch. We completely gutted it. Our original kitchen had a historical component and she was able to work with that very well. When we started, she asked us for a vision board and we gave her ideas. She came and looked at the space and discussed what we were hoping for.
One of the things that really impressed me was how well she and her team considered what we were looking for because we were very particular. She was able to see our style and offer complimentary suggestions. For example, if there was a certain type of tile we wanted, she helped us zero in on the right color and helped us match it to the right countertop for our taste. The quality of the design work was great and the choices they offered were good. There weren’t any hiccups and they adapted to our budget.
We love the kitchen. They gave us an amazing contact for custom cabinets. We haven't found anything less than what we wanted since the project was completed. Her team was very attentive. I have no complaints and I would highly recommend them. We will call them back when we're ready to redo our bathroom.

The Castro, San Fransisco - October 12, 2022
I have worked with Erin and her team on a couple of projects.
She helped us manage a living room remodel in our San Francisco condo. It had an old fireplace with outdated built-ins and we wanted to make better use of the space. We ended up demolishing what was there and rebuilt some really beautiful white oak cabinetry that provided lots of storage. We also refreshed the furniture and lighting in the room.
While we were at it, we updated the kitchen with a new countertop, bar stools, and a new light fixture for the island. She helped us select pieces to make it look cohesive and sourced it all for us. We had fun with that because she showed us a lot of options and pieces we wouldn’t have found ourselves.
Then we bought a house that needed a lot of repainting and furnishing. There were cosmetic features that weren't our style and Erin helped us pick out furniture, paint, and lighting. She saved us so much time by going through the whole house and offering us three paint options for each room. We always had space to give our opinion and she offered hers when we needed it. Her work made a huge difference in transforming the house and making it our own.
Erin was always able to match our design style and was very open to feedback which I appreciated. She also provided her professional input when needed. She was responsive to our budget and helped us get multiple bids from contractors and electricians. She has good industry connections to help get work done. We really appreciated her flexibility and project management.

Erin decorated 75% of our home with furniture and other decor items. She sat with me in every room and created three or four layouts for each. She was great to work with and communicated well. Everything she delivered was very high quality. Her vision boards, in particular, were great. Because she learned my style so well, she could usually predict which one I'd like most. She is super organized and made the process very easy. I have recommended her to lots of visitors.
