Neighborhood Group Brings Quality Food to Angelenos
THE PEOPLE AT FOOD ACCESS LA BELIEVE HEALTHY FOOD IS A RIGHT, not a privilege. Their farmers’ markets bring fresh, locally grown produce right into neighborhoods, creating welcoming spaces where families shop, farmers thrive, and communities come together.
For those using CalFresh, their Market Match program makes it easier to fill bags with fruits and vegetables by doubling benefit dollars, stretching food budgets while supporting California farmers. Learning goes hand in hand with access, which is why Food Access’ nutrition education programs provide hands-on experiences: cooking demonstrations, affordable meal planning, and fun, family-friendly activities that make healthy eating realistic and enjoyable.
Their eat! program connects residents directly to local farms through boxes of organic, seasonal produce delivered weekly, bi-weekly or picked up from a nearby community site. These CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) boxes, with add-ons like bread and eggs, directly support Food Access LA as well as 5-7 local farmers.
Each of these programs works together to ensure that families don’t just have access to food, but the tools and knowledge to make lasting healthy choices. In 2026, Food Access LA markets and programs will interact with over 60,000 households in Los Angeles, expanding opportunities for more families to eat well and thrive.
