Urban Planners and Architects Unite to Fight Homelessness
ACROSS NORTHEAST LOS ANGELES, LA Más partners with working-class communities of color to address challenges like displacement and rising rents. Working with renters, property owners and housing experts, LA Más creates housing that is affordable, stable and stewarded by the community. So far, they have purchased three properties, preserving 23 units of housing for 65+ people. By investing in community vending, sharing economies and resource sharing, LA Más creates a local economy that centers our working-class neighbors.
Join LA Más at the Somos NELA market the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month in Frogtown to support your neighbors. With community at the forefront, LA Más is working towards a Northeast Los Angeles that has options for working class neighbors to stay rooted in the communities they love and call home.
