I rely on Dog Sitting Company for several of my home management clients in Beverly Hills. No matter which sitter I use for walks, overnight stays, or daycare - I know that they will take wonderful care and always stay in touch. Whether it’s the holidays or on short notice, they’ve always been there for me. My clients and I trust them completely.

We were struggling to find dog sitters for our anxious girls—they are rescues and can be timid around people. We decided to try using The Dog Sitting Company for boarding. Our dog, Misty, is usually hesitant around new people, but by the end of their first stay she was getting belly rubs! Both dogs get so excited when we pull up to Dog Sitting Company. We’re so glad we found them.

A friend of mine recommended The Dog Sitting Company when I couldn't find anyone to look after my dogs about 6 months ago, and I’ve used them a couple of times since. The most recent occasion, I had a friend who was going to help me with my pups but had to back out last minute. Fortunately for me and my furry friends, I was able to get The Dog Sitting Company the day before I left town and they booked me right away, which was a huge relief! They have cared for my two adult dogs, Hexley and Delilah, when I’ve gone away twice before. Everything has gone very smoothly so far, without a hitch. Madison is a very nice, professional and very cool person. As far as I know, the staff that came out to care for the dogs was fine too. My dogs seemed very happy and well-adjusted when I came back home. Initially, at the time I first hired The Dog Sitting Co, I had checked out a couple of different companies and their pricing is comparable and very fair. They left the place clean each time and once they even washed up the dishes and everything in the kitchen sink. They even leave nice little thank you cards, which is a nice personal touch, so they go a little bit above and beyond their promises. I’m very happy with how it’s all worked out with them, and I know I'll be hiring them again.

I have been using the Dog Sitting Company for a handful of years now. I am a musician who sometimes has to travel for gigs—and sometimes on short notice. If my family comes with me to a show or we go on vacation, we’ll typically use the service for overnight sitting for our dog, Riley, and my daughter’s little bunny, Cheddar. I think naturally you’re always going to be a little nervous when someone new stays in your home, no matter who it is or what it’s for, especially when you’re not present. What if the dog gets out? What if the bunny gets out? What if they both get out at the same time?! But when I initially met Madison for our first meet and greet, I was relieved! And when I get daily updates during my travels, my pets look like they are having fun. Madison and her company have been nothing but great to me and my family. Madison was originally the one who was taking care of my pets and house for a long time. However, as she got busier and couldn’t stay in my home for certain dates, she had other sitters from her company take over the duties. We have always had the chance to meet the sitter beforehand and all of them have been awesome. I really enjoy not having to think about “who” will be taking care of my household, and I don’t have to burden my neighbor. I let Madison or a member of her staff know the dates I’m looking to book for travel, and then they send one of their top sitters who can accommodate my dates. Pretty simple. A very, very good friend recommended Madison to me many years ago. I figured if my friend loved her, I would as well. When I first met Madison, I knew she was going to handle my pets and home with great care. She was punctual, polite, quick to respond, and extremely respectful of my living space and my privacy. Whether by email, text or phone call, I can’t think of a time when they weren’t always professional and responsive. Everyone I’ve spoken to on staff thus far has been extremely nice and accommodating to whatever needs I have. Sometimes I have a package coming in with music gear that I need brought in or some plants watered, things like that. When Madison first came to stay at my house, I just thought she would leave the place as is and call it day. I didn’t really even think about it. But when we came home and realized she had left the place cleaner than we had even left it, we thought, wow... She really set a standard for us. The entire Dog Sitting Company staff operates the same way and we really value this as one of the included bonuses of our bookings. They give us great peace of mind. As a pet owner, I want someone to be as caring, if not more caring, to my home and family, as if I was there. Everyone I’ve dealt with has a gentle demeanor and caring attitude towards pets and people. That’s so important, especially these days. It’s really nice to know this service feels more or less like extended family to me and my pets. It doesn’t hurt to try the service out for yourself. You get to meet the sitters beforehand, so the quality of their staff is apparent right away. As an example, when Madison first stayed at my house, when I had gotten back home after my travels, I had gotten a little note saying how she appreciated us using her service and the fun she had with Riley while we were gone. And after we had gotten our bunny Cheddar, we had left for about a week or so. When we got back, we had a neat little photo book of our dog Riley and Cheddar. So that was a really sweet unexpected gesture.

I originally met Madison a couple of years ago through a mutual friend. As I got to know Madison, I discovered that she started up a company. I work a corporate position that requires me to travel multiple times in a month sometimes. I have two small jack russel terrior mixes and sometimes it’s last minute that I need to go traveling, and it’s hard to burden friends and families with dogs.

So this became intriguing to me because I got to know Madison personally and would trust her with them. My dogs are like their kids, and if someone can take them on in short notice, that is so worth it for me. She’s terrific when it comes to last minute notices. I’ve been working with her for two years now and it’s been nothing but great. She’s done dog walking and pet sitting and is great with other animals as well (I have a cat.) My dogs are pretty anxious, b/c I rescued them from an animal shelter and they aren’t great with everyone, but they clicked with Madison right away, which is priceless.

I have a new job where I have to travel a lot. I was worried about leaving my German Shepherd alone because he is a little older and has developed arthritis and it's been tough for him to walk. When I had to take a week-long trip to London, I started asking around for recommendations for someone who could take care of my dog and a friend recommended Madison's Dog Sitting Company. I gave them a call and someone from the company came over for a consultation before I left. I was extremely impressed with how they handled the whole situation. I had had other dog sitters, but this one did things like periodically sending me pictures. She kept me in the loop and made me feel so much better about leaving because I didn’t have to worry about my dog. When I returned she gave me a booklet of different photos she had taken. After that, I hired the Dog Sitting Company when I left on four more trips. Now, DSC is my go-to pet and house sitting service. Their rates are extremely reasonable. And I was really surprised that my place was tidied! The beds were made, my mail was picked up, and my plants watered! I had to ask if all that was included and it was! I highly recommend Madison’s Dog Sitting Company.

As an actor and filmmaker, I’ve used The Dog Sitting Company a few times to take care of my standard poodle. I have used a couple of different sitters there and I think they’re great! They cured my dog of a phobia: he was afraid of stairs. I don’t know what they did, but he had gotten over his phobia when I returned. I've hired them for weekend trips and once when I was gone a month. It’s nice to have someone that I trust in the house. It’s also very simple in terms of getting in touch with them and scheduling. Their prices seem fair. I think taking him somewhere to board would cost more and I like to leave him in his domain. Since I’ve been with The Dog Sitting Company, I’ve never had a reason to go anywhere else.

I learned about the Dog Sitting Company through a mutual friend. Madison is very personable and very good with dogs. They do a whole "meet and greet" before you schedule the work so you can see how the dog will react to her being in the house. My dog Blaze took to her right away. In fact if you mention Madison’s name, Blaze gets all excited! I am a musician and I often have to leave town. Madison is very accommodating even if I have to leave at the last minute. My dog is a Shepherd-Husky mix and likes a lot of attention and play time and they give her all that. Their pricing is fantastic. With the Dog Sitting Company if there are any special things you need done—taking out the recycling or whatever—you come back and it’s done. They go the extra mile. I feel like my dog and I are in good hands and that is comforting to know. And Madison has good people on staff who can sub for her. It’s a really good company!

Naturally, your pet sitter should love animals, but they should also come with a high emotional intelligence! A good pet sitter will be just as sensitive to the needs of the pet owner as they are to the needs of the animals they care for. Look for someone who . . .

  1. Displays great empathy and respect for all living creatures.
  2. Pays attention to details and cares about getting things right.
  3. Is honest.
  4. Is a self-starter with a sense of leadership.
  5. Is a careful communicator.
  6. Is willing to go above and beyond what is expected.
  7. Has experience caring for pets professionally.
